2009年8月11日早晨，日本东部静冈县骏河湾海域发生里氏6.5级地震，造成110人受伤，其中数人伤势较重，共约3340所住宅受损。[24] 2010年3月20日，日本静冈县御殿场市一陆上自卫队训练场在举行“控制燃烧”活动。上午9点左右，约1000名当地居民和陆上自卫队成员参加了活动。9点45分左右天气突变狂风大作，风速最高时达到60千米/小时。随后火势难以控制，造成3人遇难。[25] 2011年3月15日夜间，包括首都东京在内的日本静冈县周边地区发生强烈地震，震级初步报告为里氏6.0级，后调至6.4级。地震造成3人受伤，2处住宅起火，富士宫市有2万户人家停电。连接东京与大阪的东海道新干线也处于停驶状态。[26] 2011年8月1日日本时间23：58分（北京时间22：58分），日本静冈县附近海域发生里氏6.1级地震，地震没有引发海啸，震源在北纬34.7度，东经138.6度，震源深度为20公里。震感最强烈的地区为静冈县中部和伊豆市，达到了震度5，东京及首都圈地区震感明显。静冈县内轨道交通全线停运进入检查状态，静冈县内的高速公路东名高速部分路段通行停止。[27]
